Skechers Relment-Traven Hiking Boots

Are The Skechers Men’s Relment – Traven High Rise Hiking Boots Too Casual?

Skechers Men's Relment-Traven Hiking BootWhen we think of the name Skechers, we often think of casual shoes rather than hiking boots like the Skechers Relment-Traven Hiking Boots.

This model is out to show walkers that you can still turn to this brand and get the protection, quality and comfort that you expect.

They look as they will provide the right performance as they seem more like boots that typical Sketchers. But, are wearers really getting all they need from the brand?

The Pros and Cons of this Skechers Men’s Relment – Traven Hiking Boot

Pros:

  •  The comfort in the memory foam insole
  •  Protective leather uppers
  •  A decent drip on the outsole

Cons:

  •  Mixed comments about the fit
  •  Not ideal for long-term use

There are some nice features and ideas that turn this Skechers Relment-Traven into a walking boot.

Because these are Skechers boots, you can expect a more relaxed fit. There is enough comfort to be found here without feeling constricted by the boot. There is still just enough support and structure around the ankle and in the lace-up closure.

The comfort offered is best seen with the use of the memory foam in the insole and the padding on the collar. Users should be able to sink quite nicely into each step and walk further than they might have assumed.

One thing that might surprise some buyers is that this can be a tougher boot then you might expect from this brand. Just because there is that relaxed fit and Skechers name, that doesn’t mean that you have to compromise on the weatherproofing and protection.

The leather uppers are waterproof – to a point – and there is a breathable lining so things don’t get too hot. The outsole also has a good pattern for traction on wet surfaces. While there is nothing special here, there might be enough for casual users.

The main issue here seems to be the durability of the Skechers Relment-Traven Hiking Boots.

Unfortunately, there are some people that feel that the quality is lacking long term. Some have struggled with the weatherproofing and the durability of the materials.

There is, therefore, the sense that these might not be able to last too many seasons or extreme hikes. There is also a comment from a wearer that found that even though they were a relaxed fit, they still weren’t wide enough for their needs.

What do these pros and cons mean for the final verdict on this Skechers Relaxed Fit Walking Boot?

There is a lot to like about this product if you are a casual walker. Those that come into this as Skechers fans with other casual shoes of theirs may appreciate this as a first walking boot.

Those with more experience and greater needs could struggle. There is no doubt that this model does more than you would expect from this brand.

The question is whether that is still enough for the Skechers walking boots to do what you need for your next season of walking.
