Scarpa Men's Mistral GTX High Rise Hiking BootsThe Scarpa Mistral GTX Walking Boots look great with a nice blend of materials design to protect walkers and provide long-term comfort.

The Pros and Cons of this Scarpa Men’s Mistral GTX Walking Boots.

Pros:

  •  There is enough mesh and perforations for breathability
  •  The suede-look upper and Gore-Tex help in the rain
  •  There is great ankle support for improved comfort

Cons:

  •  There are mixed comments about the feel and grip of the sole
  •  The design isn’t for everyone

The Scarpa Mistral GTX Walking Boots have a lot of helpful features for comfort and weatherproofing despite the lower cost.

The design of this boot makes it look like a comfortable option that should be protective without getting too hot.

The majority of the uppers consist of the tougher suede-look material and then you can the mesh further up around the ankle and tongue. However, there are also neat little perforations in the sides to aid with breathability.

This should help keep your feet a lot cooler in the warmer months and on long treks. At the same time, there is still enough waterproofing with the Gore-Tex membrane and extra protection around the toe.

It is also nice to see a Vibram sole for grip here when the brand could have gone for a cheaper element to match the lower price. This helps explain why this is classed as a 2-3 season hiking boot.

Another interesting thing about these boots is that the specification highlights the ankle support. There is full coverage around the ankle with plenty of padded and metal hooks for the lace also reach this far for a more secure fit.

Overall, there are lots of positive comments about the comfort provided – both here and across the boot more generally. Some people wore this on long hikes straight away with no ill effects.

Complaints about this Scarpa Hiking Boot tend to relate to minor issues and personal preferences.

Of course, comfort is subjective and some wearers would have liked a softer sole, even though this soon breaks in nicely.

Other minor comments refer to the performance of the sole on flat wet surfaces and the use of colour. There is a small amount of blue in with the “smoke” to make these a little more fun.

There is also the impression that reviewers mark this down regarding value, although it isn’t clear why considering the components used and that protection in different seasons.

Is this Scarpa Mistral GTX model the 2-3 season boot promised?

While some wearers may not like the feel of the sole or the pop of colour, there seems to be little doubt that the boots can provide comfort and support across three seasons.

There is the weatherproofing for the winter, the breathability for the summer, and the ongoing comfort needed for regular walks across the year.

There seems to be great value in these Scarpa walking boots, which makes them a highly recommendable option for your 2022 hiking adventures.
