Salomon X Ultra Trail Walking Boots Review

Can The Salomon X Ultra Mid Trail Walking Boots Meet Basic Requirements With Their Specification?

This product is currently unavailable. You can find similar models here.

Salomon X Ultra Trail Walking BootsThe lace-up Salomon X Ultra Mid Trail Walking Boots with their 2-inch heel have some interesting features like the Quick Laces for added convenience in putting them on, a SensiFit system of comfort and Contra grip materials.

They almost sound like high-tech boots, which is not what is on top of peoples priority lists.

Instead, buyers want this boot to offer basic reliability on the terrain, waterproofing and comfort over long periods of time. Can this product provide this or have buyers been disappointed?

What benefits have buyers noted after testing out the basic and more complex features of these Salomon X Ultra Walking Boots?

One of the most important advantages is that comfort levels seem to be high, with some saying that there was no need to break them in and that they are supportive around the right parts of the foot without being too tight, something that is aided by the Salomon 2D chassis for “great stability and cushioning underfoot”.

Buyers also say that the boots have a good grip, which makes them a great choice for all those that bought them with walking challenges and mountain treks in mind, and many mention their light weight.

It seems that buyers can take Salomon walking boots pretty much anywhere and not suffer too much as a result; there are no blisters, aching feet and there is even mud guard and gusseted tongue to protect the inside of the shoe from the outside world.

They seem to be tough, as they are holding up to a lot of everyday wear and coastal hikes, but there are a few drawbacks that have been noted that suggest that they could be a little tougher for some people’s liking.

What is this issue with the performance of these Salomon X Ultra Mid Trail Walking Boots and what other disadvantages should buyers be concerned with?

The problem with the reliability of the shoe starts with a lack of waterproofing; even though some happy buyers are praising the level of protection on wet days there are others saying that even wet grass can soak them a bit too easily. There is a GORE-TEX extended comfort lining in place but perhaps it is not quite enough?

The upside to this issue with moisture is that they dry out again very quickly but there are reports of squeaks developing, suggesting they can wear down over time. Longevity is definitely an area that has disappointed a few wearers who expected to be able to use them for longer.

Finally, a couple of reviewers have mentioned the price because they are not the cheapest option around but others would shrug this off by pointing out the quality that is provided for that little extra money and the security of the brand.

Summary: are these Salomon X Ultra Gore-Tex Walking Boots still recommendable with these problems in mind?

Some have said that these boots are best recommended for summer because they are so lightweight and because of the issue with the waterproofing.

Perhaps careful owners will be able to get a good performance out of them for a little longer than that, especially if they are able to stand up to lot of of walks, but they should then switch to something more protective for winter.

These Salomon boots are still a recommendable option, however, because of the comfort that is provided, the reasonable durability and the security on tough treks.
