Regatta Holcombe IEP Hiking Boots

Are The Regatta Holcombe IEP Hiking Boots Comfortable Enough For All?

Regatta Men's Holcombe IEP Mid High Rise Hiking BootsThe Regatta Holcombe IEP Hiking Boots are an attractive option with a lot of interesting features in the specification.

The design of the uppers and the mesh immediately look the part for long term wear and hiking trips.

There seems to be enough going on in the specification without going overboard.

Therefore, this seems like this should be a pretty accessible men’s walking shoe. Is this the case or are there some clear flaws to watch out for?

The Pros and Cons of this Regatta Holcombe IEP Hiking Boot:

Pros:

  •  The amount of protection against the rain
  •  The comfort in the sole and heel
  •  The colour schemes

Cons:

  •  Some problems with the laces
  •  Some find they need to break the shoes in

The Regatta Holcombe IEP Hiking Boots offers just enough protection and comfort for most users.

There is definitely plenty of protection against the elements. It starts with the seam-sealed membrane for the rain and continues with the water-resistant hydropel technology on the surface. There is also a fairly strong lace-up closure for a good fit – and to keep the wind and rain out further.

A breathable mesh adds to the protection in the hotter months. It doesn’t hurt that there are some different colours to choose from in those uppers.

There is nothing over the top or bold in colour, but there are variations on the two-tone theme of greys, navy and browns with colourful accents here and there.

For the most part, there are some great reviews about the comfort provided by these Regatta hiking shoes. Features here include with the flat heel, padding around the boot and protection for the ankle in the high-top boot.

There is also the weight-reducing internal EVA pocket sole to keep down the weight over long periods.

The biggest issue with this Regatta IEP Walking Boot seems to be the comfort and reliability over long periods.

There have been some small issues with this boot for those that want to head out on longer treks in bad weather. The laces provided aren’t always up to the job and there isn’t the metal lace hook of more-rugged hiking boots.

Some buyers have also found that they had to break the shoe in a little bit to get it to conform to their foot and stay comfortable on those long walks. This means that those that plan a big hike or walking holiday may need to choose the best size in advance.

Is this Regatta Holcombe Walking Boot still recommendable with all of this in mind?

There are some issues with the comfort that might prove to be off-putting for some people. There isn’t the instant gratification that you can get with other, similar walking boots. But, that doesn’t mean that this is a bad choice.

There are some great features within the shoe and weatherproofing elements that really can help. The choice of colours is also a bonus.

If you choose the right size and change the laces, these Regatta hiking boots could prove to be a worthwhile choice.
