The Pros and Cons of this Regatta Bainsford Men’s High Rise Hiking Boots.

Pros:

  •  The different attempts at weatherproofing
  •  The comfort of the insole
  •  The snug lace-up fit

Cons:

  •  Needs a half-size larger than normal
  •  The weatherproofing will fade

This Regatta Bainsford Walking Boot is a tough and reliable boot when users first wear it.

The main selling point here has to be the weatherproofing. There is a combination of features here that should help wearers get through the roughest weather conditions with ease. The exterior of the Regatta boot has a water-resistant coating called Hydropel Technology.

This should repel the rainwater to help feet stay drier. This is accompanied by a breathable Isotex layer that will stop feet from getting too hot and sweaty over long distances. There is also a decent grip on the sole so wearers don’t slip around on wet rocks.

Then there is the secure fit, which should also help to keep out the wind and cold. The lacking is tight and reaches up to ankle on the high-rise design.

As for the comfort on offer, there is the use of EVA shock pads in the insole to help cushion the foot and absorb the shock a little better.

There is also padding on the collar and the shoe doesn’t weigh as much as it might at just 545 grams. Therefore, most find comfort pretty quickly and can walk for miles with no problem at all.

But, the Regatta Bainsford Hiking Boots can lose some of that reliability over time.

One thing to be wary of here is that the coating in the leather will wear away over time. The longevity of these walking boots as weatherproof boots could, therefore, depend on how much time you dedicate to taking care of them.

If you are too rough with your cleaning or don’t repair them then they might not last as long as hoped. The only other frequent comment to consider is that it is better to order a half size up if using these with thicker socks. Some chose their normal size and were disappointed.

How does this affect the final verdict on this Regatta Weatherproof Hiking Boot?

The final decision on these boots may come down to the need for long-term use. If you are looking for something that will last for years then the diminishing weatherproofing could be an issue.

However, those that are looking for something for a few trips here and there can get a lot out of this product. The Regatta walking boots are well-made with some great design features and can prove to be of use in the wind and rain.
