The Pros and Cons of this Mountain Warehouse Voyage Walking Boots.

Pros:

  •  A nice comfortable shape for regular use
  •  Weatherproofing where it counts in case of puddles or showers
  •  Some nice extra details to help wearers further

Cons:

  •  Durability issues that aren’t uncommon with this brand
  •  Warning that the model seems smaller than before

These Mountain Warehouse Voyage Walking Boots have the right basic features in their shape and materials for general use.

Let’s start with the comfort offered by this Mountain Warehouse walking boot. It isn’t so relaxed that it won’t be supportive or reliable over long distances, but it isn’t a full-on hiking boot either.

You get a nice comfortable low-rise cut with enough support around the back of the ankle and a supportive EVA midsole.

The synthetic uppers do up nicely to the top of the foot for security and look good at the same time. There is a choice of a two-tone brown or black and grey design.

Then there are the features for adding a little more protection to your feet on those long walks. The most important has to be the IsoDry membrane for a combination of waterproofing and breathability.

You also get a decent sole and while it isn’t the extreme grip of something like a Vibram sole, it does the job on standard routes. You also get heel and toe bumpers in case you stub yourself on any stones.

There is just the usual warning that these Mountain Warehouse Voyage shoes aren’t going to last as long as some competitors.

The main issue here is longevity. It is a common trend in reviews for this brand’s shoes. They have built a reputation for providing a range of accessible products for general use at a fair price – something for casual walkers rather than keen hikers.

This leads to reports of elements wearing down by the end of a season or two. This includes the insole and the rubber caps. Also, there is a warning from one buyer that the shoes received felt smaller than previous examples of the same model.

Is this Mountain Warehouse Voyage Lightweight Hiking Boot still recommendable with these pros and cons in mind?

There are some downsides to this shoe that we can’t overlook. If you need something tough with high-end features for a year’s worth of adventures, this isn’t going to keep up.

But, if you just need a comfortable walking shoe for short trips and errands, where it is OK to replace them next winter, this could be a good choice.

There is still enough protection and padding, along with a decent design, to make these Mountain Warehouse walking boots a good choice for those that come back to the brand time after time.
