GRITION Walking Boots Review

Is A GRITION Walking Boot As Warm And Waterproof As Promised?

There are two statements in the listing for the GRITION Walking Boots that lead to high expectations. They are “never get wet” and “keep warm forever”.

This suggests that there is a lot more going on beneath the surface – a surface that also seems to have a nice grip, secure lace-up closure, and protection around the toe.

So, what do walkers think?

The Pros and Cons of this GRITION Walking Boot.

Pros:

  •  The waterproofing in the uppers and the lining
  •  The insulation is thicker than the average boot
  •  Secure grip on the outsole

Cons:

  •  Some comfort issues with that extra padding on the ankle
  •  Some buyers will need to order a half size up.

The GRITION Walking Boots is a waterproof, warm and comfortable option for a lot of wearers.

Let’s start with never get wet. There is waterproofing in the fabric and the lining to keep water out during wetter days or if you end up walking through puddles. The claim here is that you should be able to keep your feet dry for up to 4 hours in a static environment.

This disclaimer is important as it might be a little less in rain. But, that should be plenty of time if you get caught out in a storm on your walk.

For the most part, users seem to be impressed with the level of weatherproofing provided and say they can rely on these for longer walks.

Then there is keep warm forever. There is insulation cotton in the boots to provide extra warmth during the winter. While this could get a bit too much for people that like to wear thick socks, it should be helpful for those that down.

There is also some velvet on the ankle to stop any sort of chill there.

Just be careful that the shape of the ankle on this GRITION Insulated Walking Boots doesn’t become uncomfortable.

There is one wearer that comments on the thickness and possible tightness of the shoe around the ankle. It doesn’t work with all jeans and can feel a bit restrictive if you are too aggressive with the lacing.

This could be a downside of all that padding and insulation. Otherwise, there aren’t too many issues here. There will always be comments about the fit, and some have had to go a half size up, but this still seems to be consistent.

What does this all mean for a final verdict on these GRITION Waterproof Hiking Boots?

The deal-breaker on this pair of shoes is the idea of the extra insulation and padding. This can have its benefits for those that want a thicker pair for winter, especially when you add in all those waterproof elements.

But, there will be those that find it too heavy or too restrictive if they are used to a thinner feel or less around the ankle. If this style still sounds like the right idea for your hiking needs, the GRITION walking boots could still prove to be a great choice.
